"So What's Your Favorite Of The
San Francisco Attractions?"
The ultimate in exciting vacation entertainment - San Francisco attractions - are world renowned for their appeal and allure! I always hear "I love San Francisco!"
Well, I do too!
If you are planning a San Francisco vacation, our website will give you lots of insider travel tips and tourist information about the San Francisco waterfront.
I have lived in the Bay Area and been a San Francisco travel guide for relatives and friends for many years. Yes, I have experienced all the best San Francisco attractions, hotels and restaurants I recommend.
Need a place to stay?
Here are my my top 10 San Francisco things to do.
I will help you get the most out of your time in San Francisco. It's an incredible travel guide about top San Francisco attractions along the waterfront, shopping centers, parking, unpredictable San Francisco weather and a whole lot more.
Alcatraz prison is the #1 San Francisco attraction. I love to go visit - especially solitary confinement - I highly recommend it for you too!
Alcatraz tours are a great way to learn all about the history
of Alcatraz.
Bike The Golden Gate Bridge
Riding across the Golden Gate Bridge is something I do again and again because it's such a fantastic experience. The wind in your hair, the boats below you, the view of the city - absolute magic! (and healthy too)
I rode a Segway scooter along the waterfront and it was so much fun! I learned how to ride a Segway scooter and got a great guided tour too. Tip - if you have a couple of hours -
take the tour -
you won't be dispappointed.
A huge part of San Francisco tourism is Fisherman's Wharf. Check these out:
- street seafood vendors - grab a fresh crab cocktail and some sour dough bread
- entertaining street performers
- seafood restaurants
- two marinas
- Musee Mecanique - an arcade full of antique games
- USS Pampanito - a World War II submarine
- USS O'Brien - a World War II ship.
- souvenir shops
The most poular waterfront attraction that's visited yearly by millions of people. It's basically a two-story outside shopping mall built over the water where you will find:
- shops
- restaurants - the Hard Rock Cafe is one
- free entertainer shows
- Aracade
- carousel
- Aquarium Of The Bay
- sea lions
My recommendation: take a couple of hours to explore this San Francisco attraction but not much more than that. My personal favorite thing to do here is watch the sea lions bellow at each other and play "King of the Hill."
Enjoying a tour of the San Francisco Bay with the fog all around me, the wind in my hair and the sun on my face is one of my favorite things to do in life. San Francisco looks so different when I look back at it from the Bay.
There are lots of different companies with lots of different tour choices who would love to take you for a ferry ride.
Plan ahead and buy some tickets to watch the San Francisco Giants at ATT Park. The stadium is so close to the San Francisco Bay boaters wait to catch home runs hit into the Bay. The park has a
very retro yet contemporary feel. Bundle up because this is one of the coldest parts of the city.
The Ferry Building had a multimillion dollar facelift in 2003 and here's what you will find there:
- 230-foot clock tower
- fabulous farmer's market every Saturday and some weekdays
- top notch restaurants such as the famed Slanted Door Vietnamese restaurant
- local favorite stores such as Scharffen Berger Chocolate, Acme Bread and the Cowgirl Creamery (think cheese not ice cream)
- ferries to Tiburon, Larkspur, Sausalito and the East Bay
I love to visit the farmer's market and get farm fresh produce and then go inside the building and explore the beautiful building and the amazing food available.
Yes there are beaches in San Francisco. If you want to take some great pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge and go for a beautiful walk
I highly recommend Baker Beach. I love to pack a picnic and a
great novel and just sit and take it all in.
