During April to October Alcatraz tours sell out a lot! That is because there are the most tourists in San Francisco during those months.

Official Alcatraz Prison Concessionaire

Alcatraz Cruises is the official company who sells tickets. They have an agreement with the National Park Service to run Alcatraz prison tours and sell Alcatraz tickets.

No other tour operator has the right to drop people off at Alcatraz. There are other tours who will take you on a boat around Alcatraz Prison but they are not allowed to let anybody off the boat.

If you want to get off the boat and take an Alcatraz prison tour then you must get an ticket through Alcatraz Cruises.

There are other tour companies that will let you buy tickets from them but they will cost you more than getting the tickets through Alcatraz Cruises! So...if you want discount tickets to Alcatrazthe best way is to purchase them directly through Alcatraz cruises.

I highly recommend taking a tour of Alcatraz prison. You can learn so much history and also have the opportunity to take some great pictures of San Francisco! It's one of my favorite San Francisc things to do.

As I said before though buy your tickets EARLY!!! You don't want to be left standing on the dock and missing this #1 San Francisco attraction!
