For a hotel in San Francisco Ca that is close to the water you can't make a better selection. I have personally visited many hotels in San Francisco California and so I am very picky about what I do and don't recommend. I really want you to have a great time!

I Love The Doormen At The Argonaut

Every time I have visited the Argonaut I have found the doormen to be so friendly and helpful. This one even let me take a picture with him. Sometimes I worry that they are going to refer me to their marketing department but this guy was cool about it!

Argonaut Hotel Lobby

The hotel has a nautical theme throughout the entire building. I feel like I'm on the deck of a cruise ship when I go in. I love water and so I just love the theme of this hotel. The wood floor makes this hotel warm and inviting.

Great Location

This hotel has a great location because it is literally steps away from the Hyde Street Pier where you can find some historical sailing ships. Aquatic Park is across the street where you can have a meal on the beach and watch the sixty year old men swim their laps in the bay while you are reading a book or just take in the sights.

Entrance and Street View Of The Argonaut

A little further down the street from this hotel is Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39 San Francisco and the Musee Mecanique. There is also Giradelli Square and The Cannery shopping center very close by. If you want to take a cable car the Hyde Street cable car turnaround is right around the corner.

Cruise Ship Deck Chair In Their Lobby

Even down to the little details this hotel carries out the nautical theme. This chair doesn't look like the most comfortable thing to sit on but it does add to the hotel's nautical feel.

Argonaut Lobby

There is a comfy sitting area in front of the fireplace complete with a working astronomer's clock above the mantel. The lobby has a few sitting areas but isn't particularly large. Land is at a premium at this prime location along the waterfront.

Hotel Room At The Argonaut

The rooms are spacious and many have sofa beds in a sitting area. You will also find white-washed wooden furniture, exposed-brick walls, and wood beam ceilings. One thing I like about this hotel is that the windows open to the sounds along the waterfront and the sea air. Some rooms have views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Prison.
