Baldwin Hotel San Francisco, one of many hotels in San Francisco California, my personal San Francisco hotel review here. I have not spent the night at this one of many downtown San Francisco hotels but I did stop by and take a video of the lobby. Watch it at the bottom of this page.
There are lots of San Francisco lodging choices that can leave visitors very confused in trying to choose one. I try to give you the facts on cheap hotels San Francisco so you can keep money in your pocket and have fun doing all those great San Francisco attractions.

The hotel is located right by the Chinatown Dragon Gate. The hotel was recently renovated and has a European feel to it.
Tip: if you plan on spending a lot of time in Chinatown this hotel is an excellent choice for you.

As you can see from this picture the street outside the Baldwin Hotel San Francisco is a busy place. The hotel is located just a two blocks from Union Square and downtown San Francisco. This is a very busy area filled with great shopping, yummy restaurants and fabulous entertainment at the theaters.

The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. This is one of the cheap hotels San Francisco so you won't pay a lot but you don't get a lot of extras either. I would say the pluses are the price and the location.
It isn't a fancy hotel and has a few drawbacks like some of the rooms can be noisy and the elevator is slow but I can put up with that if I can walk just a minute and be right in the middle of downtown San Francisco without having to pay a fortune for a hotel room!

The staff is helpful and friendly and will give you directions wherever you need to go.

The lobby isn't very large but down a short hallway there is a small area at the back with a few couches.
