Best Western Tuscan Inn

Fisherman's Wharf San Francisco Lodging

Best Western Tuscan Inn - I got a room for $60 on a Friday night by bidding for travel on Priceline.com!

I love finding cheap hotels in San Francisco that don't feel like one of the cheap hotels San Francisco! Best Western Hotels are usually run of the mill franchise hotels but this one was just two blocks from Fisherman's Wharf San Francisco and was a lot nicer than most of them.

Every December it's my hubby's birthday and our anniversary but always a terrible time to go somewhere. Since I have this website and we got a great whale watching deal we decided to go spend the night away from the kids and go to San Francisco. (besides - we could right it off on our taxes too!)

I wanted to stay close to Fisherman's Wharf since we had to be at the whale watching place by 7:00 a.m. (ugh - and this was vacation?!) I looked on Priceline.com and they didn't take my first offer but then they counter-offered and I got the room for $60 a night! That sounds like a real bargain but I also had to add in the hotel tax - $16.59 and then the parking was $42.00 + 14% tax which was an additional $5.88 = $124.47.

Tip: if there's any way you can avoid having a car in San Francisco DO IT!!! You will save a lot of hassle, time and money.

Hotel Room

The room was warm and cozy and the mirror behind the bed made it feel bigger. The furnishings seemed newer and solid and the bed had nice linens on it with a comfy down comforter. The desk was also a nice place to sit down and organize myself. The view from the room was mostly of just a tiny courtyard and the hotel wall which is pretty typical of many views from San Francisco hotel rooms!

Notice the green and white chair in the picture - I'm still trying to figure out if that's an accent piece of if they forgot to remove it when they redid the room!

The bathroom had nice marble and tile in it and looked like it had been recently redone. It was really clean and nicer than most of the Best Western bathrooms I have seen.

Hotel Lobby

The lobby had a nice warm fire going in it. We walked by the wine reception and it looked like all the guests were having a great time. We were in a hurry to get to dinner at Scoma's but would have liked to stop and mingle some.
