Me In The Cool Shrek Chair!

I love this chair! Even if you don't stay at this hotel you need to pop in and take a picture of yourself sitting in this chair. I felt like a little girl again. I wasn't the only one taking a picture of themselves in this chair.

Outside The Clift

The hotel is located right next to the Curran and Geary Theaters. Also just steps away is Union Square known for its world class shopping. Nob Hill is also close by which is a great place for socializing, sightseeing and shopping. The Powell Street cable car line is also just a block away and will take you to Pier 39 San Francisco and Fishermen's Wharf.

San Francisco Icon - The Redwood Room

The Redwood Room opened its doors in 1993 and was recently redone in 2001 by Phillippe Starck. From the floor to the ceiling I found redwood paneling. They boast that the entire restaurant was paneled from one single redwood tree.

It is a San Francisco icon and has digital artwork on plasma TV's all around the room.

This is a hopping place on weekend nights. Tip: visit on a weeknight if you really want to be able to see the place.

I Love This Artsy Seat

I wouldn't want to sit in this chair very long but it is very cool to look at. The hotel lobby has chairs from Ray and Charles Eames, a Salvador Dali coffee table, and a custom made sculpture by William Sawaya.

Golden Chaise

Located next to the thirty-five-foot fireplace that has a bronze chimney sculpture created by artist Gerard Garouste you will find this chair. Let me ask you - isn't this chair just beckoning Marilyn Monroe to pose there?

A Chair With Buffalo Horns

The lobby of The Clift Hotel San Francisco is filled with some very interesting chairs. This one has buffalo horns on it so be careful. Don't worry though - the rooms in a stark contrast to the lobby are very light and bright.

A Room At The Clift Hotel

The rooms at The Clift are clean and spacious. Tip: ask for a room on an upper-level floor because some guests claim the walls are thin.

The Living Room

There is an area off the main lobby they call "The Living Room." It has comfy velvet sofas and leather wing chairs and library lamps to assist you in reading. I found this a great place to rest my feet and people watch for a few minutes.
