Fog City Diner - one of my San Francisco restaurant reviews on San Francisco dining is found on this page. I like doing a San Francisco restaurant review because I get to eat!
I had heard of the famous "Reeses peanut butter cup" dessert at this restaurant and I was dying to try it. There are lots of San Francisco restaurants to choose from so I just have to try as many as I can so I can write a lot of San Francisco restaurant reviews for you!

Me, my hubby and my daughter had spent the day exploring Angel Island and then drove south across the Golden Gate Bridge and along The Embarcadero to find one of the San Francisco restaurants to eat at because we were starving!
We chose the Fog City Diner to eat at. I had driven by it many times along The Embarcadero but had never stopped to eat.

Here is what we had for dessert. I like to start with dessert first anyway! This was amazingly rich and yummy. We kind of mangled it before I took this picture because we just couldn't wait to dive in. Sorry for the bad pic!
It had a very delicious whipping cream topping and a gooey peanut butter inside covered in Ghiradelli milk chocolate. Every once in a while I get a serious craving to stop here again and order on of these babies! They aren't cheap at $8.00 a pop and so the three of us split it and even getting just a few bites it was about all I could handle!
I asked the waiter for the recipe and he came back and they don't give it out... That made me sad but I still gave him a tip.
You can see from the expression on my daughter's face that this was a really fabulous dessert! We were all almost licking the plate it was that good!

The ambience of this San Francisco restaurant was classic and upscale diner. From the outside it just looks like another one of those hamburger joints but inside you could tell it definitely wasn't your typical burger place.
There were people dressed up and others in casual attire. It wasn't really crowded and the service was ok but not fantastic. Maybe we just got an average waiter.
My husband and I split a salad with pear in it and it had some great walnuts and blue cheese. It was good but nothing fantastic. We also had the chicken quesadillas. They were pretty good and had some wonderful flavors.

The restaurant is found on the corner of Battery Street and The Embarcadero. The Teatro Zinzanni which is a dinner and show place is right across the street on The Embarcadero.

I hope this San Francisco restaurant review has been helpful. There are lots and lots of San Francisco restaurants and so my purpose is to help you never to have a bad meal in San Francisco by choosing the wrong restaurant. Expect to pay about $20 - $30 a person for this restaurant not including your liquor. It's not cheap but the food has some unique flavors and I think it's worth the money. You could probably get better food at another restaurant for the same prices that the Fog City Diner has. For example, Scoma's down the street is phenomenal seafood for about the same price.
I do recommend this San Francisco restaurant for a nice dinner in a convenient location somewhat close to The Embarcadero and Pier 39 and Fishermen's Wharf.
