There are many downtown San Francisco hotels but the Hotel Palomar is very centrally located near the exciting South of Market (SOMA) district, the Financial District and Union Square San Francisco which is famous for it's amazing shopping.
If you like to be downtown in the hustle and bustle of the city streets then this is your place. If you like a slower and more restful environment that I would suggest a hotel near the waterfront.

Hotel Palomar Lobby
Compared to some of the other downtown San Francisco hotels the lobby wasn't all that impressive to me. It was clean and modern but not exceptional in any way.

The Hotel Palomar San Francisco is right in the heart of all the downtown San Francisco hotels and the hustle and bustle. It is a refuge from the business of the street scene found just right outside it's door.
If you plan on spending a lot of time in the SoMa area specifically:

then this is a great hotel choice for you. I recommend the Hotel Palomar San Francisco. It is a little pricey but the service and the location make it all worth it mad more.
