Palace Hotel San Francisco is one of the hotels in San Francisco California everybody wants to stay at!
Majestic is a word that describes this landmark hotel.
It opened October 2, 1875.
At that time this San Francisco lodging was the largest, most luxurious and costliest hotel in the world. It still is probably the most famous of all hotels in San Francisco, California.
The Garden Court of today used to be the carriage entrance.
The Palace Hotel was destroyed and then completely rebuilt after the 1906 earthquake and fire. It took three years for the complete restoration. After the restoration Maxfield Parrish painted a gorgeous mural in 1909 that is still in the Pied Piper Bar.
