Ocean Beach is the biggest and has 5 miles of relaxing surf and sand. You will find surfers, swimmers, dog-walkers and daydreamers here. A great place to get off the beaten tourist path for a few moments of peace and relaxation.
San Francisco isn’t well known for it’s surf scene since it’s not really hot here.
Here is a list of several more beach choices in San Francisco:
Aquatic Beach – right at the end of Fisherman’s Wharf in Aquatic Park
Baker Beach – one of the only nude beaches San Francisco – it’s not all nude though!
China Beach – lots of San Franciscans don’t even know it exists but I loved it! I asked several San Franciscans if they knew where it was just for kicks and they had never heard of it! It’s tucked away in a little quiet cove next to Baker Beach.
When I think of the city I don't think of San Francisco beaches but I love going to them! My favorite of them all is Baker Beach because it gives you a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
