It is a 1.5-acre hydraulic model of the San Francisco Bay which includes showing you the moving tides. It also has exhibits of wetlands, wildlife, shipwreck, antique equipment, videos and video games. If you are travelling with kids and on a budge then this is the place for you. It is in an old Marinship warehouse at 2100 Bridgeway Avenue and admission is FREE! Contact them at 415-332-3879. Another FREE tour you can take is to visit the Marine Mammal Center which is found at the Marin Headlands. You can contact them at 415-289-SEAL. Here they have hospital for orphaned, sick and injured seals, sea lions, dolphins, otters and whales. You can actually see them being fed, comforted and treated. Call ahead to make sure they have some patients. Update: I just checked and the Marine Mammal Center is currently closed until Spring 2009 for a rebuild. Overall ExperienceWhen I have been to Sausalito it has been my experience that if you don't want to take a formal tour you can just ramble around the shops and have a great time just poking your head in the shops and galleries!
