Embarcadero San Francisco

Information From One Of
The Great San Francisco Guides

Embarcadero San Francisco, Embarcadero shopping center, Embarcadero 10K, Embarcadero Farmers Market San Francisco, Embarcadero Skydeck - the best choices for spending your time.

The Embarcadero refers to the road found along the northeastern waterfront. It is a completely flat, sea-level route and gives you a clear view of the San Francisco Bay and the Bay Bridge.

A Beautiful View Of The Embarcadero
From Treasure Island

There is no other skyline as beautiful as the San Francisco one – hands down!

The Embarcadero shopping center is made up of 5 multi use office and retail buildings which include the Embarcadero Skydeck and the Embarcadero Center Cinema.

In this area you will find the Hyatt Regency which has a great location and a breathtaking view but is very pricey.

The Ferry Building at Embarcadero is just a fews steps across the street where Market Street ends. Here you will find the Embarcadero Farmers Market San Francisco.

Twice a year is the Embarcadero 10K run where many San Francisco runners run all along the Embarcadero.

You will see many hikers and joggers as it is a great place to go for a walk or run or bike ride.

Here are a few of the things you will find along the Embarcadero going from east to west:

  • San Francisco Giants Stadium – AT&T Park

  • Ferry Building San Francisco

  • Pier 39 san Francisco

  • San Francisco Aquarium

  • Fisherman’s Wharf

  • Hyde Street Pier

  • San Francisco Maritime Museum/Aquatic Park

AT & T Park has a very nostalgic feel to it. Home runs are known to go in the San Francisco Bay.

Pier 14 Walkway Out Over The Bay

I rode my bike out to the end of Pier 14 and the views absolutely took my breath away! The Bay Bridge is there on the right. The fisherman were right there with me.

Here’s the view looking back at the city from the end of Pier 14.

    Ferry Building San Francisco

This building was renovated in 2003 and has a 230 foot clock tower at the top of it. It is well known for it’s wonderful farmers market and it’s high end food choices inside.

Probably the most touristy place in all of San Francisco but I still think it’s fun! You can get to know the sea life of the bay much better by visiting The Aquarium San Francisco.

This is the view from the back of La Mar – a high end Peruvian restaurant that is very yummy!

    Fisherman Wharf

A great place to eat a fresh crab cocktail or a sour dough roll with butter. There are usually street performers entertaining you and trying to lure you out of your money.

Also there is a San Francisco shopping center called The Embarcadero Center which is 5 multiuse office and retail buildings. They are connected by bridges and walkways. Shopping and dining are convenient in this area as well as expensive lodging and great public transportation access (BART and muni is very close).

    Transportation
    Embarcadero To SFO

If you are at the Embarcadero and need to get to SFO you have three choices in order of cheapest to most expensive:

    1. Take BART from the end of Market Street.
    2. Arrange for a shuttle to the airport.
    3. Take a taxi.

The Embarcadero San Francisco is a key part of the city. It is one place that you will definitely not want to miss.
