San Francisco Ferries

San Francisco ferries, ferry schedules, the Ferry Building Marketplace Terminal Pier Plaza in the San Francisco Bay Area and ferry boat tours, that's what this page is all about.

San Francisco ferries are just one of many things to do San Francisco. I love anything to do with water and if you do too you will love to take a ferry ride and get a new perspective of San Francisco from the waterfront.

Did you know? The Society of American Travel Writers (a professional organization of travel journalists and photographers) asked their members what is the most beautiful ferry ride in the world? The ride between Sausalito and San Francisco was their #2 pick in the whole wide world! (first choice was the Star Ferry ride in Hong Kong).

There are several ways you can get on one of the San Francisco Bay ferries:

  • Take a tour of Alcatraz Prison and as part of the experience you get a ferry ride out to Alcatraz. (This tour is the best Bay Area ferry boat cruise tour in my opinion.)

  • Go to the Ferry Building San Francisco and take a ferry to Sausalito, Tiburon or Larkspur.

  • From Fisherman’s Wharf take a ferry on the Blue & Gold Fleet and go to Angel Island. (This is one of the great San Francisco tours too!)
